Daily diet

Regular cyclists have to be aware that their daily diet is just as important as eating and drinking right during training and rides, even though the bike is nowhere in sight.

First, it is important to emphasize that your diet should always be nutritious and balanced and should, whenever possible, stay within the following proportions: 15% proteins, 30% lipids and 55% carbohydrates, approximately. As a guideline, your calorie intake should be 3,000-3,500 calories per day (depending on your physical characteristics) and always following the golden rule: never eat more or less calories than those you consume during exercise.

It is also important to take the necessary time to have a good breakfast, lunch and dinner, without hurrying, preferably according to a regular schedule, and to digest well to avoid the feeling of a heavy stomach. It is essential to chew your foods properly.
