BikeRadar: First impressions on our Ultralight

Cycling website www.bikeradar.com will test our newest racing bike soon, but they have shared their first impressions online.

BikeRadar: First impressions on our Ultralight

Our Ultralight keeps getting favourable reviews from all the people who ride it. It is not we who say so but specialist media and experts who look at every carbon fibre in the lightest frame from BH. At www.bikeradar.com they have received our latest racing bike for a long-term test review, but they are ready to give their first impressions.

The author of the article was impressed by the weight and stiffness of the bike: ‘True to its name, the frame weighs just 807 g/1.78 lb on our scale.’ The standard weight of a 56-cm frame is 747 g or maybe 725 g, says Tim Jackson, marketing manager at BH USA.

The model to be tested by BikeRadar has a mix of Shimano Dura Ace 7900 mechanical (7900-C24 TL tubeless clinchers with tubes), FSA and PRT parts. The complete bike weighs 6.31 kg (13.84 lb) without pedals. However, weight is only part of what makes the Ultralight so special. Stiffness is the other most important factor, the Ultralight being the stiffest frame we have ever produced. And the Ultralight uses our BB386EVO bottom bracket system. In sum, a spectacular bike.
