FROM VITORIA TO THE GLACIER:
THE STORY OF A NEW BH AMBASSADOR
with Erik Adán
There are moments that mark a before and after.
For Erik, that moment came with a race bib and a BH electric bike in his hands.
At just 20 years old, this young rider from Vitoria has just begun a new chapter as a BH brand ambassador—an opportunity that, as he himself admits, he didn’t expect to come so soon. But the truth is, he’s been pedaling in that direction for a while.
A passion that started at home
It all began with bike rides with his parents. “I started when I was 13, but it was at 16 that I began to take it seriously”, he recalls. Since then, his relationship with the bike has evolved from personal enjoyment to racing commitment, though always with a different mindset than just chasing results.
In addition to competing, Erik also spends part of his time giving MTB classes,
teaching other riders how to get the most out of their bikes.
For him, sharing what he has learned on
the trails and in competition is another way of experiencing cycling.
The leap to BH
The opportunity with BH came almost as a surprise.
With no previous experience as a brand ambassador, the backing of such a consolidated name meant a big step up.
Having a brand behind you that supports you with gear, gives you the bike, and trusts you... it’s every rider’s dream
That motivation only multiplies when he knows his role goes beyond competing:
it also involves testing, sharing feedback, and helping improve the products.
Currently, Erik mainly represents BH through its e-bike range, specifically with the iLynx+ SL, though he has also tested the new Lynx Trail, which he uses as his training bike. And the feelings couldn’t be better: “It’s the closest thing to a muscular bike. The stability it gives you in banked turns makes you feel really safe”, he explains about riding with the motor located low in the frame.
Megavalanche: from ice to mud
One of his most recent big experiences has been the Megavalanche in Alpe d’Huez.
After taking part last year in a shortened version due to weather conditions, in 2025 he got to live the full edition, starting from the glacier.
It’s crazy. To set off in a group of 500 people from a red ski slope on a bike is just wild
The experience was as intense as it was unpredictable.
A tricky line in the snow played a bad trick on him and he hit the ground right at the start. Even so, he values the experience as unique and is already thinking of coming back: “If I do it again, I’ll try to start a bit calmer and really push hard in the sections where you can overtake more people”.
Injuries, crashes, and learning
The season hasn’t been free of obstacles. A crash at the Spanish Cup in Riglos left his shoulder injured and kept him from finishing the Epic Enduro in Aveyron, one of his main goals. Despite that, his attitude remains positive: “Next year I want to try again and finish it. I’ve still got that thorn stuck”.
With BH by his side, those challenges now take on a different dimension.
The electric present of enduro
For Erik, the rise of e-bikes goes far beyond marketing.
He sees it as a natural evolution of the sport, especially in the recreational arena.
“Electric bikes are taking over amateur enduro. Innovation is really happening there”

He doesn’t hide his disappointment over the exclusion of e-bikes from the World Cup calendar,
something he considers a strategic mistake.
Cutting e-bikes from the World Cup is cutting visibility from what’s growing the most
That’s why he believes the future of the category lies outside that circuit,
in national and international races willing to bet on the technology.
Renewed goals
Becoming a BH ambassador has changed his plans.“I had planned to race with a muscular bike, but now I’ll do them with an e-bike,” he explains. He believes this might even give him better chances at good results and, above all, lets him keep enjoying cycling from a new perspective. It’s no longer just about competing, but about actively taking part in the development and promotion of a type of cycling that’s connecting with more and more people.
Erik is just beginning his path as an ambassador.
He does so with his feet on the ground but his eyes set on the top of the glacier. Because there, where the madness of the Megavalanche begins, also begins the true journey of any cyclist: the one you live from the inside.
Which is my bike size?
