RISE OF A SWISS SUPER TALENT
Lewin Iten

From visiting a shop to a successful project –
how Lewin's journey with BH Bikes began

Lewin Iten's journey to BH Bikes did not begin on a race track
but in a family business that has been supporting his passion for years: Woeckes Bike and Sports. The Iten family has always trusted the
expertise of Marco Woecke and his team– so it was only natural that they always chose their bikes there.

When Lewin came into the shop one day looking for a new hardtail, Marco introduced him to the new BH Ultimate.
The very first test ride was a revelation, and Lewin took the hardtail home with him immediately.

Marco had it clear:

The bike was a perfect fit for his riding style and requirements
ULTIMATE

After a strong year in the U17 category, Lewin's development finally reached the Swiss market manager – and
shortly afterwards the marketing team at BH Bikes. A sponsorship agreement was drawn up, and thus began
a partnership that quickly gained momentum.

So my journey with BH Bikes took off very successfully

The U17: The foundation of a champion

The second year in the U17 was to be a turning point.
Winning the Swiss championship title was a dream come true for Lewin. In addition, he achieved several
victories in the World Race Series, the ÖKK Bike Revolution Series and the CIC Swiss Bike Cup.

But what sounded like a highlight was only the starting signal.
His greatest successes were to come shortly afterwards in the U19 category.

A picture-perfect season – Lewin Itens 2025

PREPARATION: HARD WORK, DISCIPLINE AND UNWAVERING MOTIVATION

The foundation for the 2025 season was laid in winter – and for Lewin, that meant one clear priority: staying healthy.
Between work and training, endurance blocks and roller sessions,
it was important to stay motivated and focused.

A training camp with his team in South Africa provided valuable base mileage in warm temperatures.
This was followed by a national team training camp in Tuscany, where the first intensive sessions of the season were held.

Back home, training on the roller dominated everyday life – mentally one of the biggest challenges of the winter.
But Lewin persevered. As his coach used to say:

Those who persevere through the winter will be rewarded in the summer

Lewin also drew some motivation from his unbeatable new setup for the season.
Shortly after the launch of BH's new short-travel XC rocket, Lewin was delighted to receive two Lynx SLS bikes.
This model allows him to perform at his best.

THE START OF THE SEASON: VICTORIES, SETBACKS AND AN IMPRESSIVE WINNING STREAK

Lewin's form was already evident in the first race in Marseille
Until a puncture shortly before the finish cost him a podium place .
But just one weekend later, and in the weeks that followed, he made his breakthrough:
victory in the Junior Series Monte Tamaro, victory in Langendorf, a top 5 finish in Nals, victories in Arbon, Schwändi and Engelberg
.

His dominance was unmistakable.
Until a crash in Haiming changed everything. A concussion forced him to take a break.
Nevertheless, he made it to the start in Nove Mesto two weeks later – albeit not quite fit: 14th place.

What followed was an impressive series.
Three victories on three consecutive weekends in Gruyères, Lösdorf and Davos.

But shortly before the Swiss Championships, the next blow:
a crash opened his knee deeply, his whole leg was scraped.
For a long time, it was unclear whether he would be able to compete.

But Lewin took to the start line – and dominated. He had a half-minute lead going into the final lap.
Then he had another flat tyre. In the end, he finished second, but it was a race full of character and fighting spirit, and
the certainty that he would be in top form for the upcoming international championships.

THE ROAD TO THE EUROPEAN AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS – AND THE MOST EMOTIONAL MOMENTS OF HIS CAREER

The national championship race was followed by the European Championships in Portugal. Lewin was nominated not only for the XCO race, but also for the team relay race. His luggage on the journey home was considerably heavier thanks to a silver and a bronze medal. This was Lewin's greatest international success to date.

The joy was immense – and was later surpassed only by the World Championships on home soil in Switzerland.

However, the preparation did not go ideally: a fall from his racing bike seriously injured his hand.
Several hospital visits, unclear prognoses… Four days before the start, it was still uncertain whether he would be able to ride at all.
But there was a happy ending. Lewin was able to compete and was nominated for both race formats as at the European Championships.
And he delivered: bronze in the team relay and bronze in the XCO race.

The atmosphere in front of the home crowd was indescribable. I will never forget sharing this moment with family, friends and fans

Riding in the Team Relay was particularly memorable for him:

Being on a team with Nino Schurter was incredible. Being able to apply his tips directly in the race was a very special experience

OVERALL VICTORIES IN SWITZERLAND – DOUBLE CROWNING GLORY

As Lewin was virtually unbeatable throughout the season in Switzerland, he crowned his season with two overall victories in the major national racing series, the CIC Swiss Bike Cup and the ÖKK Bike Revolution,
following his successes at the European and World Championships.

Looking ahead – goals for the CX season and beyond

In the current cyclocross season, Lewin is competing in the U23 category for the first time and
has had two high-quality BH RX Team bikes custom-built for him.

His goals remain realistic, but he still dreams of competing in the World Championships.
Despite a break from training, he made a name for himself in his first U23 race at the end of October, finishing in 6th place.

A special connection to the BH brand

As a BH athlete, Lewin was of course always well supplied with high-quality equipment.
But a glance at the Iten family's fleet of bikes shows that Lewin is not the only one riding a BH. With currently more than 10 (e-)bikes, even a large family can go on joint tours while remaining loyal to the brand.

We wish Lewin every success in all his upcoming challenges and good health at all times! Thank you very much for your commitment and congratulations on your numerous successes!
