Mario Mola wins a bronze medal in the Yokohama World Series

The member of the BH Tri Team dropped back in the last athletics lap of the fight for triumph. Fernando Alarza completes another great actuation to take eighth place and once again on the Top-10. Mario Mola wins a bronze medal in the Yokohama World Series

The members of the BH Tri Team once again finished a great actuation by taking a Top-10 spot in the Yokohama World Series with the third place of Mario Mola and the eighth place of Fernando Alarza.

Mario Mola once again was on the podium and the man from Mallorca already accumulates three visits to the box in the five races of the World Series.

The race started with the swimming sector in which Mario Mola, Fernando Alarza and Vicente Hernandez dropped back from the leading group. Once on their BH G6 Pro they managed to reduce the 19-second disadvantage and connected with the other rivals. This made up a massive group of more than 50 riders with practically no attacks.

Marten Van Riel was the bravest by attacking the large leading group and obtaining a 50-second advantage before taking on the last change. Nevertheless bad luck hit the Belgian who saw how a fall stopped him from starting the foot race with an advantage.

The last section started with a group of five leaders including two men from BH, Mario Mola and Vicente Hernandez, among others. The man from Mallorca started to attack by changing the rhythm and reducing the leading group to only three together with Javier Gomez Noya and Allister Brownlee at the end of the first of the four laps.

With just two kilometres to run, Gomez Noya launched an attack that meant a face-off with Brownlee when Mario Mola dropped back. Constant attacks took place between the two leaders and finally the man from Galicia won, because the British man dropped back just 700 metres from the final.

Mario Mola reached the final 20 seconds from the winner and leader of the WTS, Javier Gómez Noya, to take the bronze medal and once again a position on the podium.

Coming behind, Vicente Hernández paid for the effort of the athletic sector and was losing strength to finish in 22nd place, two minutes from the leading group.

Fernando Alarza once again demonstrated his tremendous regularity with a race in which he managed to gain positions. For many kilometres he raced shoulder to shoulder with Buckingham and Grajales but in the final sprint he was relegated to eighth place.

The man from Toledo corroborated his great condition this season with a new position in the Top-10 of the race, something he has managed in the last five races and this keeps him in third place of the world ranking.

After this fifth World Series race the next stop will be the on May 30, in London, first European race after the Oceania and Asia adventure.

The general classification is led by Javier Gomez Noya, followed in second and third places by the BH Team members Mario Mola and Fernando Alarza. The 22nd place of Vicente Hernandez relegates him to the 12th position.
